FAWCO TARGET PROJECT

Help FAWCO Help Others.

The FAWCO Target project, initiated in 2009, helps bring together women from clubs located all over the world to join together and support a common cause, with the goal of improving the lives of women and children.

Every three years, FAWCO selects and supports a “Target Project” with the overarching goal of improving the lives of women and girls. The project is chosen on a revolving basis through four areas of interest: Education, Environment, Health and Human Rights. At the annual convention a theme is announced and  several different supporting projects are nominated by member clubs. The final project is voted on by the clubs.

The AIWCD is a proud supporter of the FAWCO Target Project. Each year, we hold several events to raise money for these projects, including our annual Casino Night event. Our efforts have enabled us to donate in support of FAWCO's mission.

2019 - 2022

S.A.F.E.:  Safe Alternatives for Female Genital Mutilation

Target Goal for FAWCO Clubs: $142,065

Hope for Girls & Women protects girls from female genital mutilation (FGM) and fosters positive social change within FGM-practicing communities in the Mara Region of Tanzania to enable girls to live healthy and empowered lives free from FGM and adverse FGM-related health issues.

2016 - 2019

Hope Beyond Displacement

Funds Raised by FAWCO Clubs: $190,000+

The Collateral Repair Project builds better futures through education, vocational and leadership training for refugee women and girls in Jordan. Their community center in Amman, Jordan, fosters community and dignity in refugee neighborhoods, as well as ensuring that basic food and housing needs are met.

2013 - 2016

Free the Girls: Providing Economic Opportunity to Survivors of Human Trafficking

Funds Raised by FAWCO Clubs: $172,000+

Free The Girls provides economic empowerment through sustainable employment opportunities for women and girls rescued from sex trafficking in developing countries. They do this by helping trafficking survivors set up micro-enterprises in the second-hand clothing markets prevalent in developing countries, wherein the women sell bras donated by women and industry partners in North America and Europe.

2009 - 2013

Tabitha Wells for Clean Water, Cambodia

Funds Raised by FAWCO Clubs: $165,000+

The Tabitha WATER program enables families to have access to clean, potable water and to raise a family’s income significantly. Without a sustainable source of clean water near their homes, families are restricted in their ability to increase their incomes. Animal husbandry or growing crops is impossible without an ongoing source of water available.

FAWCO Target Programs have the overarching goal of improving the lives of women and girls. They also offer opportunities for local FAWCO Clubs to come together and make a global difference.
