Heart to heart: The heart shaped pillow projectDo you like to help others while having fun and meeting new people? At Heart to Heart events, we make heart-shaped pillows and drainage bags that have been specially designed to be used by breast patients. The pillows have a unique heart-shaped form that, when placed under the arm, is helpful in making the patient more comfortable after major breast surgeries. The drainage bags are small bags with long straps that are used to store patient's surgical drainage bags, freeing up the patient's hands. No knowledge of sewing or other crafts is required, everything is explained on the day and easy to do! Come to one of our sessions to meet other members, have some fun and do some good. If you're interested in hosting a Heart to Heart session, please fill out this form and one of our committee members will be in touch to schedule a date as soon as possible. Pillows are donated to patients at our partner hospital Sana Hospital in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim and to the Internationale Senologie Initiative e.V., who are a point of contact for woman who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
