The benefits of volunteer work are well documented. In addition to the obvious, of helping the receiver, the benefits to the giver are also significant. Volunteering can help a person feel connected, reduce stress and depression and give an individual a sense of purpose. These are all important benefits for anyone, but especially for an expat.
For expats living in Germany, opportunities for meaningful philanthropic activities can be hard to find. In addition to the language barrier, there are cultural, social, and economic factors which change the volunteer landscape.
This is where the AIWCD comes in. Our charity fund supports local and global causes. Whether you prefer to donate money, time, or goods, we have an opportunity for you. All AIWCD charitable efforts embrace the overall FAWCO theme of helping women and children.
